Landyn LOVES the water! We went over to a friend's house for a Memorial Day Pool Party and she had a blast. By the end of the afternoon, she was one worn out little girl. It was so much fun just watching her play in the water. She is definitely my little water baby.

Biscuit's John Deere Girl

Biscuit, Honey, and Landyn went shopping for new lawn mowers one day. Landyn told him that she liked the "green ones" the best. That'a girl! So Biscuit decided to by the John Deere mower, and he bought Landyn a John Deere hat to go with it. Memorial Day morning, they mowed the yard together. She loved it! And yes, once again, she was running around the yard in just her panties. I promise she actually does own clothes.

Acupuncturist Appointment #1

Yesterday I went to my first acupuncturist appointment. My friend Sarah recommended this lady to me who has a practice in Waco. So I drove up yesterday afternoon for my consultation and first treatment. She was very nice and the whole experience was very encouraging and relaxing. So this month I am going to go to the acupuncturist several times and take a break from the infertility specialist and all the meds. Let my body detox basically. I left her office actually feeling hopeful, which it has been quite a while since I have left an appointment feeling hopeful. So that has got to count for something!! She gave me a book to read and some special herbs to take. I am also going to start the basal body temp. thing to track progress since I will not be doing any more ultrasounds or blood work. She also gave me suggestions for tweaking my diet. Hopefully by doing all of this new stuff, I can get in touch with my inner Life Energy and become a Fertile Mirtle!!! ;O) Wish me luck!!

Sanded Hardwood Floors

About a month ago, Patrick and I decided that we wanted to sand our hardwood floors down and re-stain them a different color. Sounds simple enough. Wrong! After two full weekends of sanding himself, Patrick gave up after completing about a room and a half. So we decided to hire someone to finish the sanding part, and Patrick would still stain and finish them. I went over this morning to check out the progress and was amazed!! They are going to be fabulous! I can't believe how different it looks with out the ugly orange stain on it. You can see the old stain around the edges and then the fresh sanded wood in the middle. Talk about making a difference!!!

Evacuation!

Yesterday morning a terrible storm came through Central Texas. It plowed over Academy, where Blake and Jenn live on her grandparents' farm. The storm was so powerful that it literally blew the entire roof clear off of their barn apartment. It also dropped the big barn door smack dab on top of Jenn's 4-Runner that was parked inside the barn! We did an emergency evaculation yesterday to get all of their stuff out before getting too wet. It was shocking to see the destruction in the area from this storm. I felt sorry for Jenn's grandparents. Blake and Jenn have just started remodeling our old house, but did not plan on moving in for a while. So they now have their stuff in storage and are having to move into the house before it is even close to being done. For the time being, they are going to stay with Jenn's parents. Please keep them in your prayers as they try to sort everything out.

Not Much Excitement

There is not much excitement going on right now with the Johnson Family. So I will give a quick recap of the past few days.

I woke up Saturday morning with a awful case of Poison Ivy................all over my FACE!!! I think I got it from a stray dog that I rescued on Friday afternoon!! The cutest little Golden Retriever puppy, with a tag, ran up to me at the new house. Of course I pet her and checked out the number on her tag to call her owner. No good deed goes unpunished!! That is the only way I could think of that I would have come in contact with the nasty stuff. This will be the second time that I have gotten poison ivy from a lost puppy!!

Saturday evening, despite the poison ivy, we went to Derek Marshall's graduation party. He is such a sweetheart! This is Jenn's little brother for those of you who do not know who I am talking about. Her family is amazing, and we absolutely love them. I feel like they are actually my family too! Landyn adores them as well!

Sunday morning, my poison ivy was worse, so we did not go to church. I am so sad that we missed the Mother's Day sermon, but there was no way I was going out in public.

Sunday evening, we cooked out steaks and shrimp for Mother's Day. Yummy! It was gorgeous outside, so we sat on the front porch and relaxed with the family. I have missed that! We all have been so busy that we seldom all get together and just sit out on the front porch relaxing.

Monday morning I woke up and my eye was half swollen shut! I decided it was time to see the doctor! I got an appointment early, which was lucky! I also had to give blood to check my progesterone levels to see if I had ovulated. So I gave blood, then went to the doctor about my poison ivy. He prescribed Prednisone tablets. I was concerned about there being a possibility of me being pregnant and taking medicine, so he wanted a blood test to see if I was pregnant, despite the fact that it still might be several day before it would show up. So yesterday I received all my results from my blood work: Neg. on pregnancy test----but staying optimistic because it is still over a week until I would be late; and my progesterone was 25----which is good because that is the highest I have had during my 10 months of infertility treatment!

This brings me down to Monday night------------Dancing with the Stars and Bachelor!!!! Even Landyn watches Monday night TV with me! She loves Dancing with the Stars! I am sad that the Bachelor is now over. Matt is my favorite Bachelor, well tied with Andrew Firestone. I didn't really like Shayne or Chelsea. He should have requested a re-shuffle of girls!

Well that wraps everything up. My eye is not half swollen shut this morning, so that is GOOD! Not much progress has been made on the house lately because Patrick has been umpiring about every night. If it wasn't for my parents, I would feel like a single mom! We see Patrick at lunch, and then when he gets home around 10:00. Good thing Landyn stays up late! All this umpiring is helping pay for the remodeling though! Oh yeah, I almost forgot. We get a new roof! Patrick and I so wanted to replace the roof because it is ugly! But that was way down on our list of expenses. But we had a big hail storm a few weeks ago, so Patrick had it inspected and we get a whole new roof!!!! Yippee!

I am watching the Today Show as I am typing this post and just saw a segment on The New Kids On The Block! They are BACK!!!! They are going to perform on the Today Show!! Holy Cow!! Who would have thought?!?!?!?!! "Ohhh, ooooh, oooh, Hangin Tough!!!!!" :o)

Dancing Debut!

Last night Landyn had her first big performance! She has been taking dance lessons from Lisa's Dance Connection for almost two years! It is actually just a Mommy and Me class. They have been preparing for their Spring Recital. Last year, she was in the recital, but I had to get up on stage with her. But this year, she has to do it all by herself! So they had a practice performance last night at Bethune's Cinco de Mayo celebration. For the recital, she has the cutest little costume, which I will post pictures of later when they come it. For this performance, she just wore her t-shirt and black shorts. Anyways, she got up on stage and did her routine almost perfectly!! I was SO PROUD! As we were waiting for her to go on, I was actually really nervous!! I did not know what to expect from her. She has never done it without me close by. But she was magnificent!!! I told Patrick to prepare himself for many many years of sitting through dance recitals and competitions!!!!

I am still alive!!

It has been two weeks since I posted something! I am sure some of you were wondering if I am still alive?!?! Well, I am still here and kicking! We have had a busy couple of weeks.

Quick Recap:

Last weekend, we had an organized "Work Day" at the new house. Friends and family members came over and helped paint, and Dad cooked bar-b-que out on the big pit. I am so appreciative for those workers!! Thank you Thank you!! We got alot accomplished!

Landyn had pictures taken at Shutter Magic in her Dance Recital outfit. She was so cute! Even if she just stands out there on stage I will be so happy, because she is just so darn cute in her outfit...........she doesn't even have to do the routine and she still will be adorable!! Landyn also had pictures taken AGAIN at Sue's. A couple of weeks ago, we had her pictures taken in the bluebonnets. They turned out wonderful. While we were there we saw a fairy outfit that Sue purchased to take her granddaughter's picture in that was absolutely gorgeous..................so of course, Mom had to have Landyn's picture taken in the fairy outfit!! So we went down to the creek, and put Landyn in this outfit. THE PICTURES ARE AMAZING!!!! I could not believe how awesome they turned out!!!! It will cost me a fortune to buy a portrait the size I want!!

Everyday we have been working on the house, as usual. It is coming together, but there is still a long road ahead. Patrick is umpiring baseball several days a week, so that is taking up a big chunk of time. Today, he is sanding down the wood floors. We want to sand them down and then re-stain them a different color. He did surprise me with my Mother's Day present a week early! He bought me a beautiful piece of granite to go on my vanity in our bedroom!!!! It is WOW! It is dark, almost black, with gold swirled in it! I love it!

On a side note, did anyone see the Today Show on Friday? They did a segment on Accupuncture and treating infertility. Natalie used it to become pregnant and so did Matt's wife. I have started doing some research on it, but was just wondering if any of you have heard about it. Let me know what you think! It is something that I am seriously considering giving a shot if this month is unsuccessful.

On another side note, I have a huge PRAISE!! A friend of mine who is very near and dear to my heart found out they are expecting!! I can't tell you who it is yet, but I want you to know that I am SO EXCITED for her!! It is truly amazing! She has been such an encouragement to me, and I treasure our friendship!! Praise the Lord for her and for her growing family!!! Hopefully I will be able to fill you in on who it is before too long! :0)

Oh yeah..............JR and Kendra had their baby! Tres Lewis Andrews was born on April 24th. He is perfect and adorable!!! We can't wait to go down to Austin to meet him!!

Well, that sums up the last two weeks. Tonight me, Patrick, and Landyn are home alone. So I am cooking Chinese food and Patrick is picking up Sushi...............this is our family's favorite meal!! Landyn and I went to Blockbuster to rent a couple of movies for tonight. I rented 27 Dresses....I have heard it is so cute. And Landyn picked out Diego.....of course! She says that Diego is her "boyfriend "and that she "loves Diego". Then she gets my cell phone and "calls him". I am SO going to have MY HANDS FULL!!! Patrick laughs and says "like mother, like daughter'! Haha!!!
