We went to Dallas for a little mini day trip to take Landyn to the American Girl Doll store at the Galleria. Her Honey let her pick out any doll she wanted for her 5th birthday present!! Landyn was so excited!!! It is hard to believe that my little girl turned 5 this year! She starts kindergarten in the fall!! Wow! Where has the time gone!!

I guess now that I am already 20 and 1/2 weeks along, it is about time to post our exciting news!! Are you ready for this!??!?!?!! We are pregnant!! This just shows how far behind I am with my blogging!! Sheesh! We are expecting a precious little boy on May 23, which happens to be Patrick's birthday as well! Brooks and the new baby will be only 20 monthes apart, which is neat because they will be the best of friends I am sure! Landyn is super excited, and I know she is going to be so much help, which I will definitely need!!!!!

This was our month to pick the Supper Club activity. What better way to spend an evening than watching the Wildcats play football!?!?! We met over at our house before the game and ate Bush's Chicken. Then we headed over to Wildcat Stadium. Landyn and Chandler participated in the Little Wildcat Cheerleader Camp the weekend before and they were able to perform before the football game!! They were so PRECIOUS!! It was a great night! We are so blessed to have such a great group of friends!

First Fishing Experience

Landyn had been begging for Patrick to take her fishing for quite a while! So over Labor Day weekend they went and bought a pink Barbie fishing pole and all the other fishing stuff you need, and went out to the Marshall Farm to fish in one of their stocked tanks. Just picture Uncle Blake, Uncle T. Bear, Patrick and Landyn sitting around this tank fishing!! Priceless! She had a blast!!

Labor Day Weekend was so nice and relaxing. We spent the majority of it out at Mom and Dad's house enjoying the great outdoors. The guys did what guys do............hunt. And the girls did what girls do...........drink wine!!! :o)

It amazes me how much Landyn has grown up over the past year! Not only has she grown a lot taller, but she has matured so much!! She was so excited about school starting back up. I am so glad that she loves school and seems to be thriving at St. Francis!! She has Mrs. Sweeden this year, which I had as a substitute teacher when I was in elementary school!! So fun!

A couple of weekends ago we celebrated the marriage of some of our closest family friends' son, Keith Wilkinson. The wedding was beautiful and we had a wonderful time at the reception. I was able to get some cute pictures!

First Official Haircut!

Last week Brooks received two haircuts! The first attempt was at Honey's house in the tub. We trimmed the back of his hair and his bangs. But that made the rest of his hair look that much thicker and subsequently he looked like he was wearing a football helmet. So we needed to take him to a professional to get it tapered and evened out. So I took him to some random place next to the cleaners to get him all fixed up. We had an excellent experience! I gave Landyn the camera and she was in charge of pictures, which she did phenomenal! Brooks did not fuss at all while the lady was cutting his hair! She put some "styling products" in it and styled him all up! He was such a stud muffin!! I can't believe how much older it made him look!!

I had a wonderful 30th birthday! We celebrated at Messina Hof which was amazing! If you have not been, I highly recommend it! The food was fabulous and we had an incredible wine tasting before hand. The afternoon/evening would have been perfect except for the fact that Patrick got a migraine and spend half of the time napping in the van. Bummer. So, we have no pictures of him! But that just gives me a good excuse to go back, because he missed out on the experience! :o)

I am finally posting pictures from our Annual Destin Vacation!! It was quite the experience this year. The day before we left I took Landyn into the doctor and found out that she had a double ear infection. So the first few days of the trip Landyn was not herself, but she improved and had a blast the rest of the trip. On day three of the trip, we received a phone call from our dog-watcher informing us that our house had been robbed. Total bummer! Then the night after that, we spent four hours in the emergency room with Brooks who had come developed an ear infection. Not fun. But despite all of the minor incidents, we had a great time with family and friends! These are a few of the pictures that we took. It is so hard to narrow them down to just a few!

We grilled steaks and made homemade icecream out a mom and dad's house for Father's Day. Yummy! I am so blessed to be married to such an amazing husband and father to our children!! And we are so blessed to have my dad close by so that Landyn and Brooks get to see their Biscuit every single day!! It was definitely a day to be celebrated!

Brooks' 9 Month Check-up

We visited Dr. Kastner today for Brooks' 9 month check-up. Everything looked great except for the mild ear infection!! Yikes! So we were given antibiotics! Bummer. Otherwise, Brooks is doing great! He is still working on getting that 7th tooth in! He has a whole mouth full of chompers! Still nursing well, although I talked to Dr. Kastner about maybe starting to wean him. He is eating all kinds of big boy food. You name it, he has probably had it and liked it! He is pulling up and cruising all over the place. There is not one square inch of our house that he has not explored! He is definitely all boy and is so different than what Landyn was like when she was little. We are so blessed to have him in our family!

Beating the Heat

Our neighbors gave us this cute little blow up pool that we put to good use yesterday. We have been going to swim at the Summit. But much to my disappointment, Brooks is not enjoying the swimming pool!! Yet, he loves bathtime and he did really well in the blow up pool. I don't know what it is about the big swimming pool that he does not like!! We are going to keep trying though! Especially since we leave in two weeks for Destin!!!! So I might be packing this little pool up and taking it with us to the beach! Haha!

We invited Granny to come over and eat dinner with us last week. She came over early and disappeared back into Landyn's bedroom with Landyn. When I went back to check on them, this is what I found! Landyn participated in her 4th dance recital this past month. It is hard to believe that she has been taking dance from Mrs. Lisa for that long! Landyn loves dance and is really good at it as well!! Bummer! They were the ones that brought her the gorgeous rose bouquet!

Landyn was so excited to be able to harvest some greenbeans from our garden! She has even decided that she LIKES them now that she has grown them!! yeah! We also found some really cute new diapers that look like bluejeans! Since it is now summer, Brooks spends most of his time in just his diaper anyways. Now he can look super cute in his new little denim diapers! As you can see, he is pulling up on and cruising around eveyrthing! He is all boy and very active!! Definitely keeping me on my toes!!!

Easter afternoon we went out to Biscuit and Honey's house for some fun Easter activities and yummy supper that Biscuit was cooking out on the big smoker/cooker. Patrick and Landyn dyed Easter eggs. Jenn and Landyn decorated her giant Easter Pizza from GiGi and Kim. The weather was gorgeous so Brooks was able to strip down outside and be free! We ended the day with some delicious bar-b-cue! Saturday Evening Easter Church Service

This year our church offered a Saturday evening Easter service. So we decided to get dressed up in our Easter outfits and go on Saturday instead of Sunday morning. After church, we went to Granny's house where a fabulous meal was waiting for us prepared by my Aunt Lyna, Uncle John and Granny. Today Landyn had an Easter Egg Hunt at school. By the way, she goes to St. Francis for those of you who didn't know. The two 3-year old classes hunted for eggs together this morning. Patrick went and was able to watch her hunt eggs this morning while I took Brooks to his doctor's appointment.

Six Month Check-up!

Today Brooks went to his "six month" check-up which actually took place closer to seven months because I waited too long to schedule. oops! So we went and saw Dr. Kastner this morning, whom we love! He said Brooks was perfect! What more could a momma possibly want to here!?!? So here are the stats as of six months, three weeks, and one day old!!

Spring is Here!

Finally! Spring could not arrive fast enough! We have been so ready for some sunny and warm weather! There is nothing better than hanging out in the front yard at my parents house and soaking up some sun!! We stripped Brooks down to his birthday suit and let him enjoy freedom. Even Sampson and Brea were enjoying the nice weather. After playing in the yard, they layed down and relaxed on the front porch next to eachother.

Brooks' newest little trick is scooting to the edge of his pack-n-play and trying to pull himself up. We have it set up at the storage office where mom and I work in the mornings while Landyn is at school. I used to be able to just sit him in the middle and he would play with his toys and I wouldn't have to worry about him. Well, now he can scoot to the edge and that could mean trouble. So it is time for me to lower him down before he ends up on the floor!!

Such a Great Big Sister

From day one, Landyn has loved being a big sis! She is so nurturing and sweet to Brooks. Last week, I put her in charge of feeding him lunch, which consisted of cottage cheese. Brooks eats just about anything and everything that we put in front of him, and he loves textured stuff the most! Cottage cheese is one of his favorites. Along with refried beans! I am not sure where either of those fall on the "schedule" to introduce to babies, but oh well. I did catch Landyn sneaking him a few bites of Starbucks pumpkin loaf yesterday at breakfast. When I asked what she was doing, she told me Brooks looked like he wanted a bite of her pumpkin loaf and then explained to me how she was giving him little bitty pieces that were smooshed flat since he only has two teeth!! And sure enough, he was loving every bite!!I definitely do not know where pumpkin loaf falls into the schedule. At this rate, he will be eating at a full buffet by next month! He also learned to drink from a straw sippy cup yesterday! Which is a really big deal to us since he still will not take a bottle! So he is taking water and juice now! So of course, Landyn loves sharing her drink with him!

My Little Man Turns Six Months!

Colton Brooks turned six months on the 10th! It is so hard to believe that it has been six months since we were blessed with such a precious baby boy!! He has been such a joy!! Everyday is something new and his smile can just melt you heart! I can't wait to go to his 6 month checkup to see how much he has grown. Of course I waited too long to set up his appointment so can't get in until April 1st, at almost 7 months! So, instead of stats, I will fill you in on his sweet little personality and what I love about this little man and what makes him special.

I am officially a soccer mom!! Landyn started soccer this season and it has been quite an experience so far! Patrick is the head coach and Blake is his assistant. Even Uncle T. Bear was in town to help out with the first practice! I am not sure how much Landyn is into the game though. She informed me today that she was not going to practice anymore until we went and bought her some "pretty practice clothes!" Really Landyn!!!! What can I say, she is a Diva through and through!

Yeah! We are back in action!! Let me explain. A couple of weeks ago, I won't name names (Patrick) dropped our lap top accidentally and it was toast! So this past weekend, we finally took the plunge and bought a new PC! Now I don't even know where to begin to catch everybody back up. When you have two little kiddos, it seems like so much happens in only a month! But I shall try my best to get back on track.

These pictures we taken several weeks ago out at my parents house. When all else fails, give the kids a box to play in right?!?! Well, we put Landyn and Brooks in a box and they stayed entertained for a while. Landyn is in one of Honey's pajama tops reading Brooks a book and Brooks is still in his Pj's hanging on her every word. So precious! I think Brooks is just over 5 months in these pictures. They are growing, growing, growing!!

Day One of Red River Ski Trip 2010

We just got back from our Red River Ski trip and had a blast!! Landyn took ski school for the first time and we could not have been more proud! She did really well and loved it!! And of course, she was the cutest one out there! :o) I have a ton of pictures, and will try to narrow it down to only a few. So here are the ones from the first day. More to come though!!

Landyn's school had a special Valentine's Lunch for the kids and their daddy's. I volunteered to help decorate and work at the lunch so I was able to be there as well. Mom watched Brooks for me and brought him up to see sissie at school. It was such a neat event!! We love St. Francis!!!

Princess Tea Party

For Landyn's 4th birthday, we hosted a Princess Tea Party! All of her friends came over dressed in their "princess attire" and looked absolutely precious! We had so much fun!! The house was decorated in hot pink and purple, Landyn's favorite colors. Landyn loved it!!! Poor little Brooks had a cold, so he wasn't in the best of moods. But all in all, it couldn't have gone any better!!

My Sweet Girl is 4!!

On January 28th, Landyn Reese turned four years old! The last four years have been the most rewarding years of my life! We are so incredibly blessed to have such an amazing and beautiful daughter in our lives. She is smart, funny, loving, honest, and I could go on and on and on. Patrick decorated her door with ribbon and balloons so it would be festive when she woke up on her birthday morning. She was so surprised. I was impressed, Patrick thought of that and did it all by himself! Then me, mom, and Brooks went to school with her to watch her special birthday chapel and birthday snack time. The picture of the cookie is what she brought for her classmates for snack time. The girls had hot pink cupcake cookies and the boys had the blue cupcake cookies. My aunt Faricha made the cookies for her..................she is SO talented! I will post pictures from Landyn's big Princess Tea Party soon!!!

My Brave Little Girl!!

Landyn has been adamant about not getting her ears pierced until she was a "grown up". I would ask her non-challantly, "hey, so can we go pierce your ears?" Her response was always "NO!" So Patrick and I were very surprised when out of the clear blue she announced to us while we were cleaning her room Saturday morning that she wanted to go and get her ears pierced!! It was totally unprovoked! That just proves my point that she will only do something when she is good and ready. There is no way I can force her or convince her because she will just dig in her heals. So we went to the mall Saturday afternoon to get her ears pierced. You could tell that she was nervous. I think Patrick was even nervous. He and mom had a bet going on whether so would go through with it. Well, Patrick lost! She was so brave. She sat in my lap and let the lady do it. To tell you the truth, I was a little nervous about getting the second one in. I knew she would go through with the first ear, but it was the second ear that I was iffy about. But she did it and did not shed a tear!! I was so proud!!

Dr. Kastner told us that a "big boy like Brooks" is ready to start cereal! So tonight he had his first taste of anything other than breastmilk...................and I think he liked it!! Landyn even tried it and thought he was pretty good!! She helped feed him and was such a great helper!!

Four Months Old!!

It is hard to believe that my little guy is now four months old!! He went to his check-up today and had a great report. Dr. Kastner said that everything looked good and that he was definitely not missing any meals!! :o) Tonight we started rice cereal and he did really well. I was surprised at how much he actually ate. Big sis helped feed him tonight. She was all about it!! And he enjoyed having her feed him! We are so blessed!!

Tyler came home from Seattle for the Christmas holiday and left to go back today. We enjoyed having him home for a while and are sad that he had to leave. We have been working on tummy time with Brooks. He enjoys it for short periods of time. The top picture is of Samson giving Brooks a big wet kiss!! Yes that is Samson's long tongue!! What's a little dog slobber in the whole scheme of things right?!?! In the botton picture you can see Brooks' drool just pouring out. He is drooling so much!! The only explanation I can come up with is that he has to be teething! His shirts become soaking wet with all of the drool!!

My sweet Brooks is getting so big! I can't believe he is already 14 weeks old tomorrow!!! We tried out the Bumpo seat a couple of days ago and he looks like such a big boy. As you can see, he is definitely looking more and more like Landyn every day. Although Landyn had lost most of her hair by this age and then it came in red. Brooks still has some of his hair, so his might stay dark. He had a doctor's appointment a couple of weeks ago and he is in the 75% in weight and 45% in height!! It is official, he is as round as he is long!!

Last Friday was Landyn's school Christmas Program. We tried taking some family pictures before since we were all dressed up hoping to find one for the Christmas card. Unfortunately we did not take "the one" I want for the card yet!! But they were still kindof cute. We had to wake Brooks up to take any pictures at all. As you can see he passed out on our bed when I layed him down to finish getting everyone else ready! He was so cute! Back to Landyn's program, she did really well! Afterward, she brought over a "friend" that she wanted us to meet!!! It has begun!! She brought over her first boy to meet her family!!!

As you can see Brooks is growing! He is 11 weeks today. That is so hard to believe. He is smiling all the time and it just melts my heart. These pictures are from last week. He is filling out and there is no denying that he and Landyn are siblings. We are so blessed to have him. He is the best baby and hardly ever fusses. And he is sleeping mostly through the night which is amazing!!!

Landyn ran in her first 1/2 mile fun run that was put on by her school!! And she came in 1st place!!! She won 1st place girls in the three year old age group! I was so proud of her! She ran the whole way!!! She was very excited about her metal and her big trophy.

We had a fantastic Halloween! Here are the first of the pictures that I am going to post!! On Saturday we also carved pumpkins, so I will be posting those fun pictures. On Friday we went to the Pumpkin patch and I have some really cute pictures of that as well that I need to post. I just don't have much time right now to post all of them. As you can see, Brooks is growing! He is 7 weeks in these pictures!! Where does the time go?!?!

We went on a family outing to the pumpkin patch this past weekend. The weather was absolutely gorgeous. Brooks slept the whole time in his new little chest carrier........which I love! Landyn painted a pumpkin, fed some animals in the petting zoo, went on a pony ride, played in a hay pile, and finished out the day with some icecream. All in all, it was a fun filled day!!!

Last Friday night was Temple's Homecoming and we braved the chilly weather to support the Wildcats. Landyn loves going to the football games!! She has a blast from kick off to the very end. Brooks and I actually stayed until half time!! This was his first football game and he did really well.

Five Weeks Today!!

It is hard to believe that my sweet little Brooks is five weeks old today! Time is truly flying by!! He is such a great baby and we are so blessed to have him in our family. His big sister adores him and is amazing with him. His very first smile was at Landyn! Is that not the sweetest thing?!?! Now that things are starting to settle down a little at our house, hopefully I will have time to post more pictures and keep everyone updated on how things are going in the Johnson family. This picture was taken yesterday out at mom and dad's house. We were sitting out on the front porch enjoying the sunshine, warm weather, and a glass of wine. As you can see, Brooks has added a few rolls in the past five weeks! When Landyn was a baby we would sit on the front porch and strip her down to her diaper just like this! That is probably why Landyn still loves to run around out on the farm in just her panties!! :o) I am sure he will follow in big sis's footsteps!
